Middle Bayou

There are many reasons to live in Greatwood Texas. The community has many attractions and is a safe place for families. The town has 12 community parks, swimming pools, and ballfields. It also has a public golf course and an assisted living facility. The residents of Greatwood can enjoy the outdoors year-round.

The town is located in eastern Fort Bend County. It is about twenty miles from Houston. It is bordered on the north by Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59, to the west by Crabb River Road, and on the south by the Brazos River. The area was developed by American General in 1989, and then was taken over by Newland Communities. By 2008, the town had been built out. In December 2017, the city council of Sugar Land voted to annex the town along with the neighboring town of New Territory. The annexation took effect on December 12, 2017.

Golf club

The GREATWOOD GOLF CLUB is located close to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including the arts district, dining district, and shopping district. Whether you are looking for a day of golf or a relaxing afternoon in the sun, you will find plenty of recreational options nearby.

The Greatwood Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course that opened in 1989. Designed by Carlton Gipson, the golf course features white sand bunkers and impressive par 3 holes. Three of the par 3 holes play over 200 yards. The course also has elevated tees and contoured greens.

Watercourse

However, the river’s steady rise left many residents wondering whether the city can survive another disaster.

The city of Greatwood is home to Middle Bayou, a channelized bayou that runs from west to east through the community. This bayou is the source of several ponds and lakes throughout the city. The lake is a great place for recreation and provides an amenity for those who live there.

The new storm sewer lines will be installed in November 2021, with the project complete by October 2022.
