The Environmental Learning Center is open to the public for a five-dollar donation per person. It is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Parking is free on site.

Visitors to the Environmental Learning Center will learn about the Indian River, which is a brackish lagoon. It is home to thousands of species, including 36 endangered species. This unique ecosystem was the inspiration for the center. It has an extensive boardwalk through the mangroves. It also has dozens of exhibits, touch tanks, and microscopes for viewing sea life.
